Sharing the fun of AFL Finals Fever

September has become the month where televisions all over the country are tuned to an AFL Finals Game.  This weekend the first round of finals will commence and after some hard fought games, two teams will battle it out over the grand final weekend on Saturday 28th September. Sadly, for many of us, our team will not have made the finals or will not make the grand final but don’t let this be an excuse for turning off.

There is still plenty of fun to be had over the coming weeks so here are some ideas for AFL parties:

  • Wear your team colours party: get all your friends together over a game and encourage everyone to come dressed in their team colours. Have prizes for the best dressed.

  • Wear your team animal: most teams in the league have an animal as part of their logo or as their mascot so why not run with this idea. Encourage people to dress up as their team animal. This is a great one for the kids who often have a dress up costume.

  • Come dressed like you are part of the action: this means you have to come dressed up as a player or an umpire, a runner or even a coach. There are so many iconic characters in the broadcast of AFL, you could even come as a commentator, live on the ground with your headphone ready to cross live.

  • Get your footie and have a kick around your back yard or down at the local park. Just because your team is not playing, doesn’t mean you can’t still enjoy the game. Playing footie with their mates is how all great players started.

  1. If you are holding a party of the next few weeks, why not share it with us. We would love to see what you have done to enough the Finals Fever!
